Birthday Fun pt. 2

Once again, I apologize for the massive amount of photos, but I just wanted to include as many pictures of my vintage dress as possible since I probably won't have an occasion or event to where it to again for quite some time! For my Birthday dinner I went all out in the hair and makeup department, taking full advantage of the attire and over-the-top-ness that one's Birthday welcomes (since I rarely get dolled up these days). I headed to Ichibiri's (one of my all time favorite Japanese teppan style restaurants) with my mom, my sisters, my boyfriend, my best friend Neg, and my Ama. I ordered the teriyaki chicken meal which includes miso soup, salad with the most amazing dressing, a shrimp appetizer, and all the fixings seen in the photo above; it was absolutely delicious as usual. We then had Graveyard Dump cake for dessert, as per my request for a Birthday cake from my mom. It was so nice having my Ama there and getting to spend time with some of my closest loved ones.

Today I'm having a Birthday party at my dad's house with some close friends and family. I'm superrr excited, especially about all the food and treats we're making.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Birthday Fun pt.1

Yes I know, I got a little carried away with the amount of pictures I added to this post-but they're from my Birthday so that's a good excuse right? On Wednesday I turned twenty, finally escaping the teen years and coming one step close to twenty one. It was a beautiful day and I had so much fun, especially since I started the day off with a great morning. I have always believed that being in a good mood and doing something you enjoy in the morning sets the mood for the rest of the day to follow. My boyfriend surprised me with a dozen red roses and a Happy Birthday balloon, a long with the sweetest card and present before taking me out for a delicious breakfast. We headed to La Galette, an adorable little creperie located in the Pier Bowl where my brother happens to work. I've become addicted to their french sodas and vanilla lattes, and I always love to indulge in their delicious crepe cuisine. We decided to go with the Apple Chicken Sausage Crepe with rosemary potatoes, caramelized onions, scrambled eggs, and jack cheese (which was absolutely amazing, there wasn't a bite left on the plate!) and the Strawberry Shortcake Crepe, which has always been one of my favorites. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the sunshine until the bf had to head to work. I felt so blessed and lucky to have spent my Birthday with my loved ones who always make me smile.

Lots more pictures of my Birthday dinner outfit to come in part two!

Two Movies Worth Anticipating

There are many great movies coming out this Holiday season, but a few stand out from the rest. Two that I have been dying to see are Conviction and True Grit. Both of these movies are brimming with top notch actors who have seemingly needed to transform themselves in some way or another to believably portray their character (by the looks of the trailers at least). This skill, in my opinion, is the true art of an actor; and to be able to in a sense become the person they are playing and to take their role in a movie and turn it into a story of their own that sweeps you away is something rare and hard to come by.

Conviction is the true story of Kenny and Betty Anne Waters, a brother and sister torn apart when Kenny is falsely accused of murder. After the pain of not only watching her brother be sent to jail for a crime he didn't commit, but finding out he attempted suicide, Betty Anne devotes her life to freeing her brother and clearing his name. She makes a pledge with him that in return for his patience, she will become a lawyer. The story is a heart wrenching mystery and truly shows the strength and love behind the undying bond between a sister and a brother.

True Grit is the story of a tenacious and witty young girl named Mattie Ross who's out to avenge her father's murder. She comes across an old Marshall named "Reuben J. Cogburn" and a young Texas Ranger named "La Beouf", and they join together to head out on an expedition to hunt down the man who killed her father in cold blood. The movie looks action packed and filled with moments that are sure to have you at the edge of your seat. With a cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin; the movie is sure to be remarkable.

What are your thoughts on these movies?

I'm asleep in your arms, but your voice, it still lingers

I fade with the wind & I drift with the sea
my love it glows bright with the sound of a promise
I'm lost in a dream of just you & me

Presenting..

THE TAN SUEDE LITAS!
Yes, these are the beauties that were hidden in the Jeffrey Campbell box in my previous post, and they are finally in my possession after months of swooning. I've been wearing them non-stop with almost everything, and yes, the rumors are true-they are insanely comfortable and surprisingly easy to walk in.

Birthday fun tomorrow,
I'm sure I'll have a picture filled post to follow !
