6/8/14; a journal entry

the time of day is now
we are just flesh and heartbeats
folded in on eachother
sweat and toes and eyelashes
cheek to chest
lips to ear
it's a sweet secret
that we both keep to ourselves
fingers and legs tangled
dewy skin in summer gloom
on a bed
of memory

photo diary: road trip up the coast

A month or so a go, I took a trip up north to visit my best friend in paso robles. driving up and down the coast by myself was one of the most freeing and happy experiences of my life. playing music, smelling the sea, stopping for coffee in small beach towns. I was a bit nervous going into it because I'm a relatively inexperienced driver, but every moment of the trip was beautiful magic. Lu and I spent three days adventuring under the trees, dancing and laughing in their hypnotizing shadows and chasing after her dog Sadie. we would stay up late in her air stream drinking wine and watching the office, having heart to hearts and singing along to music. I can't wait for our next adventure.
life is so full of wonder when you stop resisting and just let go.

the way these photos look is pretty much the way I feel on the inside lately. here and there and kind of hazy. I've neglected my blog again caught up in the rhythm of life, but I've realized when that starts to happen, I just kind of have to let go and accept it. I have been trying to get settled back into life at home (in san clemente). I still have lots to take care of, everything I own is still across the country, but I am enjoying every moment and trying to be as present as possible. the days have been long and warm, I drive down to the beach nearly every morning and evening, and I've been so happy to be spending time with my family & animals again.
I have so many things & places I want to experience over the next year, and I have been finding that I've become obsessed with documenting everything again. I can feel that things are going to fall into place just as they're meant to, and in the mean time, I am just enjoying each day and each breath.

seeing my hometown with new eyes, road trips through the desert, slumber parties in vegas, animals, and day dreams on the beach. life is beautiful.
