(wearing: thrifted platform sneakers and dress, diy/thrifted choker)
So, after my day as a blonde, I spent a few days with hair reminiscent of what my mom and sister called a 'grunge mermaid'. It was cool but not exactly what I was going for, so we continued (and still continue)experimenting. Most of my friends are at Coachella this weekend, so Lulu and I have been making ourselves feel better with pizza, crafts, and an embarrassing amount of candy. My cleanse starts tomorrow. I woke up to a room littered with candy wrappers and a mind littered with regret..SOML.

finding.balance

(my new hair!! a collaborative effort by my lovers & hair stylist extraordinaires Lulu Golden & Heather Rose Harris)

I'm here. I have not disappeared completely, although some days it sure feels that way. I apologize for my lack of presence and posting on the blog. I've taken a little hiatus to find balance and to cut through the bullshit (excuuuuse the language) in my life. We all have those days, and lately I've just had more of them than usual, and all one after the other. Change is hard, and scary. Especially for someone like me who likes routine and normalcy in life. I'm just starting to realize it's not until you throw yourself into a really uncomfortable or unfamiliar situation that you can really figure yourself out. I promise to be back to posting as usual (if not MORE than usual) very very soon. Once I clear my head, I'm sure my posts will be less monotonous and more substantial anyways. Finding balance is a constant struggle, but I'm getting there! In the mean time, I thought I would pass along a special treatttt for all you guyss from the people over at Crash & Burn Apparel. They have extended a special discount for all of my blog readers! Just head on over to their site and enter SEAOFSTYLE at checkout & voila- 20% off your order! Awesomeness. I know it sounds too good to be true but it is nothin but truth mah friends.

OHH, and I promiiiiiise to update you on the status of S.O.S.'s launch soooon! Lot's of exciting things are just around the corner...now if only I can get there without anymore unexpected hurtles popping up.

rustlust

(wearing: vintage DIY bustier, vintage DIY cut offs, H&M booties, fringe wrap brand unknown)

Hair preview part twooo. These were taken on a perfect Summer evening spent with good friends being goofballs and enjoying the warm July skies. We took a little impromptu trip to Laguna Beach to check out the Sawdust Festival, and with my ankle still causing me some serious problems, I decided to borrow my Grandpa's wheelchair for the night to give my weary bones a rest. (see last photo. I know you like my googley eyes..HAHA) Please don't judge me for posting a bathroom mirror picture. I wanted to give a better view of my outfit, and when you don't have your very own personal photog at your disposal 24/7 sometimes you have to make do with less creative set ups. The suede rust colored bustier was actually from a vintage ankle length onesie, and after months of sitting at the back of my closet, I decided to cut it apart. So happy I did too-it's definitely one of my new favorite pieces.

As stated in my last post, Lulu dyed my hair a little darker last night, and I'm so happy with it!
I'll be sharing pictures soon! It's always fun to switch things up a bit.

What would you do to your hair if you were to take a leap and make a big change? Please share!

Hair preview part one! As I said a couple posts back, Lulu's re-dying my hair again (tonight as a matter of fact) just to make it a bit darker and the change in color a smidge more drastic. I've been craving change lately. Change in style, in hair, in surroundings. The feeling that goes along with embracing something different and not necessarily knowing what the outcome will be is rather exciting...and I've been bored with my hair for some time. So, since I'm a weeny and will most likely never go through with chopping off my length, color is the next best thing. These photos are really crappy quality so you can't quite see the depth and richness of the color, but I love it. And I know once I go a leeeetol bit darker, I'll love it even more! Can't wait to post the end results!
