Been a while since I've posted any editorials,
but this 60's theme (and styling) is everything I've been loving lately.

I'm still alive! I really must apologize for my lack of posts and overall presence lately, I came down with an awful bug the morning after V-day (just my luck) and it left me completely incapacitated; I mean literally- I didn't leave my room let alone my bed all week. I'm just now feeling only the slightest bit of relief, and I've been really disappointed in myself for neglecting the blog regardless of the reason, so be expecting an abundance of inspirational posts to make up for the lost time! I really have to say a huge thank you to all of my followers, and to all of you who (follower or not) take the time to stop by my blog and leave me the nicest and most encouraging words anyone could ask for. You truly don't know how much it means to me.

So on that note, I hope everyone is enjoying a happy and healthy weekend !

Ah, it's the magical mystery kind

oh, must be a lie
bye bye, to the too good to be true kind of love
oh I could die, oh, now I could die

The Eve of a New Year

With this New Year I hope to renew my spirit & grow & thrive as a person who is continually changing, expanding, and evolving; to make promises to myself so that I may reach my fullest potential & realize that anything is possible as long as I stay true to what I believe in and never let my hopes be dimmed down by myself or others telling me I 'won't', or I 'can't'. To be my biggest supporter and advocate and never stand in the way of my own possibilities & promise. I vow to accept change with open arms, and to work with what I have and do whatever I can with it-rather than dwell on what's beyond my grasp. I promise to accept that not everything is in my control, to be a brave person who isn't afraid to stand up for what's right. I promise to never stop dreaming and to never put a cap or limit on what I can attain in life; to be loving, kind, patient, and secure. I promise to push myself to the limit and up over the edge of my comfort zone, to take more chances and never let a moment pass me by unfulfilled and empty. To laugh in the face of adversity, and to prosper and carry on a stronger more hopeful person; & finally- I promise to live without regret, to take meaning and learn a lesson from each mistake I may make, and to push through any obstacle that may try and stray me from my path.

Here's to a wonderful New Year filled with opportunities and love for all !

Vogue U.S. January 2011

So I ventured out into the rain yesterday along with my mom and sisters to watch Black Swan (which I've been dying to see since the moment the first trailer was released). I've always been a huuuuuge Natalie Portman fan & was extremely excited to see her in a role that was so different from her typical part and pushed the boundaries. After hearing all of the hype and talking to friends who either loved or hated it, I was anxious to see what this dark psychological thriller was all about. Let's just say it did NOT disappoint. AMAZZZINNNG! The creep factor and eeriness was definitely taken to new extremes compared to other movies of it's nature, but it's almost in a genre/class of it's own. Natalie was so astonishingly believable and insanely good (insanely being the operative word here haha) that I truly think she may nab an Oscar for her spot on portrayal of ballerina-pushed-to-the-edge Nina Sayers. Along with amazing performances by Mila Kunis as free spirited dancer and rival Lily and Barbara Hershey as Nina's ex-dancer semi-psychotic & creepily obsessive mother Erica- I think Darren Aronofsky just struck gold with this artistic and mind blowing masterpiece.
