lavender;afternoon

(wearing: Gentle Fawn top & lavender sunglasses c/o aSociete, f21 knit shorts, Volcom leopard print jacket, vintage necklaces)

Today was such a perfect day. It felt like Summer and I could not have appreciated it more. Wore this outfit midday while hanging out with a friend and selling her some vintage (minus the shoes of course- I'm strictly forbidden from wearing platforms of any type due to my fudged up ankle until I have my surgery-so I have resorted to posing in them for a few moments at a time). I'm wearing two of my favoriteee new things right now; this amazing, sheer, incredibly soft Gentle Fawn top from aSociete and this Volcom leopard print jacket. It was so hot out today, this jacket was immediately tossed to the wayside once I stepped out the front door. Can't wait to share photos from this afternoon's adventures...

So this is probably my favorite outfit I've posted to date. It's pretty much everything I love compiled into one *comfort-friendly-slap-happy look. I mean, I am a true blue child of the 90's (children of 1990 uniteeeee) and if I could, I'd probably dress head to toe in a combination of grunge-goth-Angela Chase (and if you don't understand that last reference then you are officially SHUNNED...jk I forgive you). Aaaaand how freaking amazing are these sunglasses?! When my friend pointed them out to me while recently shopping at Volcom HQ, I heard angels singing and saw bright lights, and nearly collapsed to the floor in a dramatic moment to top all soap operas and E! reality shows alike. They're like the perfect combination of Kurt Cobain and Jackie O, are they not? Oh, and words cannot describe how attached I've become to this Volcom jacket. I think I have worn it literally every day for the past few weeks, I mean..uhhh..

*so recently my friend Neg and I have come to the conclusion that our life motto should be COMFORT OVER EVERYTHING since the sad and honest to goodness reality is we spend the majority of our time in sweats and hoodies. GlAmOrOuS~*~* hey, atleast we aren't in denial about it, and it just makes the times we do dress up all the more fun. And 'slap happy?' you may ask..well, my sister Danaan has a serious habit of expressing her emotions-whether that be extreme anger or happiness- by smacking/slapping whoever is in close vicinity to her. There in lies slappity happity, and a new phrase for me to repeat until I drive everyone around me mad. Muahahaha.

Sorry about my lack of posting these past couple days. I've been running around like a mad woman. I even took a little day trip with my mom, sisters, and one of my best friends to go apple picking. Who even does such a thing? I mean..apple picking? My mom truly comes up with the most inventive and fun ideas, and it was so nice to get away for a little while. I have LOTS of pictures and nonsense to share with you guys, so do not fret. I will be back to my photo filled posting overload as per usual.

This particular post is actually a couple days late. I wanted to share with all of you that my very first post on the Volcomunity blog is up! It was just a little introductory accompanied by a mini photo diary, but I am so excited to think up lots of creative ideas for the weeks ahead! I'm thinkin lots of film photos, photo diaries, and even recipes and DIY's! (If you have any requests or ideas on what you'd like to see- like a particular DIY project for example- I'd love to hear from you). Make sure to check back each week and help support my new blogging venture. There is lotssss of amazing stuff to be seen over on Volcomunity, & so many inspiring girls sharing their creativity and thoughts. If you're anything like me, you're bound to get wrapped up in the site for an unfathomable amount of time.

Staying true to theme, I thought it would be the perfect time to share one of my favorite new Volcom items. This top is my current obsession. It's so light and flowy and amazing (so you knowww I had to have it in the paisley print too..heh heh) and such a good day to night transition piece! Stay tuned for the full outfit post lovers. Hope you all had an amazing weekend.

volcom x details

(a few detail shots of my new Volcom digsss)

I had the wonderful opportunity of heading up to the Volcom Headquarters yesterday, and meeting with Bonnie the women's marketing director about my new venture in guest blogging over at Volcomunity. As if I wasn't excited enough already, after talking with Bonnie and Volcom employee Deborah about all the new exciting things Volcom will be partaking in as well as some amazing collaborations that will be launching in the up coming year- I am more stoked than ever to have the chance to be involved and to be a part of Volcomunity (and to share it with all of you!). Bonnie and Deborah were so incredibly sweet and welcoming, and really made my day special. As if all that wasn't enough, I got sent home with a bunch of amazingly beautiful Volcom pieces! Be expecting manyyy an outfit post featuring the new shtuff.

BIG NEWS+Volcomunity

Some of you may remember a post I did a while back here about the Volcomunity X Lookbook contest I entered. After weeks of anticipation, the winner was announced, and to my complete and total shock (it still hasn't quite sunken in) I found out that I won! I was honestly floored (& burst into a fit of hysterics and nearly fell down the stairs running to tell my sister the news) and I am so honored and thankful to have been given this amazing opportunity! For those of you who don't know, the prize included a guest blogger spot over at VOLCOMUNITY (which I could not be more thrilled about!) as well as a year's worth of free Volcom denim! There were so many amazing and inspiring entries, and I was just excited to be a part of the contest let alone have a chance of winning. Thank you SO much to all of my readers who supported me and voted for my look, to all my fellow lookbookers, and most of all-to the entire Volcom team! I cannot wait to be a part of Volcomunity,
and I hope all my readers will follow me along this exciting new venture.

VOLCOM x LB CONTEST

(Wearing S.O.S. 'Super Nova' crop top with shredded panel, lace tap shorts via Nastygal,
DIY necklace, e-bayed sunnies, random/vintage jewelery)

I have a huge favor to ask of you guys. I've entered myself in the Volcom Denim x LB contest on lookbook.nu, for a chance to win a guest blogger spot over at Volcomunity (and the free Volcom denim for a year doesn't sound too shabby either). It would mean the world to me if you could click HERE (or the lookbook.nu link at the bottom of the post) and HYPE me! I'm pretty far up in the top fifty entries, so any and all help is appreciated more than you know! Since the point of the contest is to represent your creativity and what makes you unique, I thought it would be fitting to wear one of my very own Sea of Style creations. (you can e-mail me at seaofstyle@yahoo.com to order one for yourself!)

Also, I noticed a few people unfollowed me within the past couple of days. I take no offense, as I realize maybe my blogging style isn't for everyone and all people have the right to follow/unfollow as they please-but it does make you wonder; why the unfollow? what was it that caused them to come to that decision? If I ever start going off the deep end, endlessly rambling about cats and chicken fingers, let my deep seeded and repressed love for all things Romeo+Juliet (yes, duh, the Leo one) take over every word I type, or just start to drive you marginally crazier than usual- PLEASE tell me. My readers mean so much to me, and I'd pretty much do anything for yews guys. (Well, maybe not anything, but you can bet your turkish meat balls I'd at least hear you out!)

I've been less worried and analytical of what I choose to share on here lately, and maybe that very fact right there is what's driving (a few, yes, only a few, but allow my dramatization to run it's course) people away. But hey, I've finally come to terms with the fact that this blog is a representation of me, and I just happen to be a very strange and arguably neurotic character. So, if you can't deal with my weirdness, then you're better off un-following anywho! Cause I pretty much guarantee..it's only gonna get weirder from here on out.

(I may be high on carpet cleaner fumes at the moment, so if I decide to delete/edit this post at a later (and clearer minded) time; I reserve the right to do so!)
