running.wild

(wearing: H&M 'running wild' cropped top, DIY shorts, vintage Nine West wedges, misc. accessories)

So I've been D.I.Y.-ing like crazyyy lately, and I have so many projects to share with all of you! I picked up these three dollar shorts while thrifting last week, and decided to try my hand at dip dying them. I was actually super excited with how they turned out (awkward headless shots were merely to show a better view of the shortsiess). I cut off the hem, let the bottom half of the shorts soak in purple dye for about thirty minutes, rinsed them, and then soaked a smaller (lower) section of the shorts in bleach for an hour or so. I can't wait to go crazy with DIYing shorts this Summer, & I'm considering selling some so let me know if you would be interested! In other news, my older sister got home from college yesterday to stay for a couple months before she takes off on a whirlwind adventure to Europe! I'm so insanely jealous, but I'm really happy to have her around for a while-and we made a huge feast to welcome her back last night; I think I'm still recovering..(I ate one..okay maybe three too many plates of food). I hope everyone is having an amazing month of June! And to all of my readers/followers: your unbelievably kind words and continuous support mean so much to me, you have no idea. You are all so amazing and I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

sealed with a TWIST

Well, I'm going a little stir crazy people. It's been barely over a week since my injured ankle has caused me to become mobile(y)-challenged, and it's starting to take it's toll. I usually end up getting insanely restless and attempt to crutch/one-footed-awkward hop around my house in search of something to keep me busy. That's when the wardrobe raid began. I have loads of thrifted clothing waiting to be sold/worn/altered (in almost every nook and cranny in my room) and I realized-what better time to try a few DIY's than now, during my life as a one-footed homebody. My navy blue turban wrap was made with some extra material I had laying around (so cute, & so easy) and I turned my frumpy grey thrift store maxi into a slimmer, better fitting, and asymmetrically cut-versatile new piece that I cannot wait to work into my day to day dressing. Aside from that, sorry for the bad quality of the pictures-but webcams sure come in handy when merely making it up&down the stairs
is a challenge in itself!

FEELTHEWIND

Please don't mind my messy room ( & exploding closet-eeek ), but I thought I'd do a quick little outfit post  from some web cam shots taken the other day. I was wearing a thrifted biker tee (DIY cut off sleeves), a vintage leopard button front maxi skirt, and my own S.O.S. shredded grey wrap. I'm actually in the midst of planning a little road trip with a couple of friends within the next month or so, and I could not be more excited to 'Feel The Wind' so to speak (heh heh- as my shirt says) and take off on a little adventure all my own. I can guarantee there will be many a photo shoot whilst exploring off the beaten path-taking advantage of the wild and unfamiliar surroundings-and many stories and pictures to share of whatever & wherever the road takes us.
Stay tuned lovers!

bend & not break

A creepy night frolicking in the park with Lulu.
Between an unnatural amount of bats and their eery cries & glowing red eyes swooping down amongst the trees, talking beneath the dull glow of a flickering street lamp, and stumbling across a bench mysteriously covered in leaves (okay, the leaves aren't tooo creepy, that was probably done by some kids in the neighborhood-but for the sake of the mood...); let's just say our evening park adventure didn't last very long. But it was an adventure nonetheless !

wearing: thrifted black tee with DIY scoop back, DIY re-arrangeable body chain, clutch from downtown L.A., Qupid wedges, Sulfr cargos

The nights are getting cooler and cooler, and on this particular night I thought all too surely I could brave the dropping temps in this open back top for a night out to dinner with my boyfriend and his family. Turns out, that last minute run back inside to grab a leather coat was completely necessary and made all the difference.

Presenting..

THE TAN SUEDE LITAS!
Yes, these are the beauties that were hidden in the Jeffrey Campbell box in my previous post, and they are finally in my possession after months of swooning. I've been wearing them non-stop with almost everything, and yes, the rumors are true-they are insanely comfortable and surprisingly easy to walk in.

Birthday fun tomorrow,
I'm sure I'll have a picture filled post to follow !

A perfect Autumn day spent playing in fallen leaves, wandering beneath towering trees, and skipping in the rain. Today was a bit more mild storm wise compared to yesterday's crazed lightning and thunder antics and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. I kept myself busy with numerous DIY projects, eating some delicious homemade butternut squash soup, and venturing into the damp weather to grab some lunch with the boyfriend. There was an odd hour or so where the clouds broke and it became quite sunny, so throughout the day the sky was a mix of different hues of grey, thick billowy clouds, and the strangest yet most beautiful colors or purple red & yellow. It was dreammyyy. Many exciting things to come this week, can't wait to share!
